I did enjoy the first TDU...it was a racing game that didn't really emphasize racing...you made some money, either by conventional means (ie races) or by doing car deliveries. Then, you spent the money on new cars and houses. It was a good idea. The online mode was good, especially the free-roam.
I had high expectations for TDU 2, Atari promised a complete re-vamp, with better online modes, better avatar and house customization and better car handling. So, with all these in my mind I got the game. Well, Atari did deliver on their promises, but I can't for the life of me work out why the fuck they added a story to the single player mode...I know TDU 1's single player was a little shaky, but in TDU 2 the single player "story" is, IMO shit!! The voice acting is by far the worst I've seen on the Xbox (well, apart from Two Worlds. but thats another story!). The charecters all look like models, and the high end cars (like the Zonda, Koenigsegg and Ferrari's) all sound like a recording of a sewing machine, speeded up!! The single player races are far too easy, even with an un-modded car. The servers for multi-player need alot of work, and the Online Club system didn't work...pretty crap for a game thats designed for ONLINE.....was NOT worth the £40 I spent on it.... considering it was in development for two years anyway....
